General Information Sir John Moore Community School is located at 274 St. Clair Boulevard in Corunna. Sir John Moore Community School officially opened in the fall of 1999 to serve the families in Corunna and the surrounding area. Our modern facility was built with community input and support. The School features a spacious gymnasium and community centre, which are rented by sports' organizations and community groups in the evenings and on weekends. The school was named after the British Army Commander Moore who fought in the Napoleonic wars. Sir John Moore is home to 314 students in English and 109 pupils in the French Immersion programs. Our staff consists of a Principal, a fulltime Secretary, 1 Educational Assistant, and many dedicated Teachers.   Sir John Moore Mission Statement The Sir John Moore community will provide a safe, stimulating environment that allows students to reach their greatest individual potential with respect for self, others and the environment with the goal of becoming a responsible, contributing member of society.
